CHARTS AND POLLS SET TWO
For the most part, it looks like people spend a reasonable grand or two on their cars.
Then there are those maxima fanatics who go nuts and spend over $7000 (I being one of them).
I'd hazard a guess that the "over $7K" guys are the ones with superchargers. You can buy
a lot of mods under $4000, but the sc will put you over the top.
The cold air intake and y-pipe are the winners, but not by much. The first five are
"too close to call" in my book. But if you look at it another way....
The majority wants to increase power of the Maxima first rather than make it handle better.
I personally voted for the tire/wheel combo, so long as you don't go too heavy/extreme.
Better tires grip better, so you accelerate faster and the car's handling improves through the
corners. They also eliminated most of my torque steer, even after supercharging. My reasoning
is, what good are the other power/handling mods if the tires are slipping? The last time
I was on the track, I used my stock tires at first to save on my good tires. Yuck! I hated it.
I left my session early and headed for the pits to switch back to my good tires. Anyhow, that's my
two cents...if you'd like your opinion posted, drop me an email!
