Eibach Maxima

It always makes my heart pump to see the Maxima represented at car shows and exhibitions.I caught my first glimpse of the Maxima STe (Sport Tuned by Eibach) at the LA auto show.

But access to the driver seat and engine bay were not allowed...so aside from the exterior, there wasn't much to see. Nevertheless, it was still fun looking it over. The two-tone paint by Molly Design catches the eye, complimenting the 2K Max's lines. Molly design also did the carbon fiber rear wing. The body kit,on the other hand, is actually an Eibach modified version of Stillen's own kit.

Fortunately, the STe was on display during Maxima Day at Stillen.

This time, it was an open display.

You can immediately tell Eibach likes Momo goodies. The pedals, shifter, and steering wheel are all from that expensive italian brand.

Eibach may have put the interior design on paper, but it was Stitchcraft that turned that dream into reality.

Time for the engine bay! So where's all this piping going?

Ooh YES! Turbo Time! Rather than going the supercharger route, Eibach enlisted the aid of none other than Jim Wolf Technology (JWT). JWT designed the intercooled single turbocharger system. JWT constructed the intakes, but apparently not the exhaust, which was customized by Eibach.

But wait, isn't Eibach a spring company? You bet, and you can tell with their dominance in the STe's suspension department. The STe sports Eibach Race Springs which encircle Ground Control shocks. Eibach also made their own prototype strut and sway bars.

For stopping power, the STe uses 14" AP Stillen rotors with 2 pistons per caliper. The rear rotors are cross drilled, but use the stock Maxima calipers. All this braking power is contained within a 18" x 8" OZ F1 Cup Wheels, wrapped by 245/40 ZR 18 Pirelli PZeros.
