NISSAN's 350ZX

OK...so it hasn't been officially called the 350ZX, but take a look at history.
In 1970, the first generation 2.4 liter Z was called the 240Z...
In 1979, the second generation 2.8 liter was the 280ZX...
The 3.0 liter third and fourth gens? why they were the 300ZX's.

So when Nissan drops the "Z concept" label, history suggests that this new
3.5 liter car will be the 350ZX. (The "X" may be optional).

The car IS coming! It will be introduced in the US in the summer of 2002 as a
2003 model car. Considering that Nissan has sold over a million Z's, and
that this one will cost under $30K, AND Nissan is bragging it'll do 0 to 60 in
under 6 seconds, it will hopefully do well.

How will it scoot so fast? Why with the new generation VQ engine that is slated
to go on the next generation of Maximas.

Of course, as always, when the production car comes out, it will be "modded down".
The pics I've taken at the LA Auto show shown above are 20" rims. I hear the actual
car will have 17" rims, with 18" rims as part of an option package.
