AVALON RACING
www.avalonracing.net |
If you need Stillen parts, you haven't done your homework if you don't
give Avalon a call. They have great prices. Customer service is friendly and
responsive. Their website also gives a detailed list on parts and pricing,
so you can at least comparison shop easier. |
CARPARTS.COM www.carparts.com |
Carparts.com , with their coupons, offers some aggressive prices. Their discounts
are often hard to resist. BUT BE WARNED. Although some have voiced that they had
a positive experience, many have had terrible experiences (me being one of them).
Delivery of wrong parts, broken parts, lost orders, long waits for customer service are
just some of the incidents I've seen people have had. Lately, I've been seeing
better responses...but watch your back! At least their website is easy to use. |
CATTMAN
www.cattman.com 800-795-1513 |
Cattman's website was much improved in early 2001. Much better in terms
of customer friendliness. When you call them, they have good customer service
and are responsive to customer issues. Cattman also has some unique Maxima goodies such as
engine mounts and limited slip differentials. |
COURTESY NISSAN
www.courtesyparts.com |
Located in Texas, Courtesy is a good source for locating both stock and aftermarket
parts for the Maxima. Courtesy also makes their own aftermarket parts. While I
like their service and prices for stock parts, I've not had much luck with
Courtesy Nissan aftermarket parts. I've since bought the front strut tower bar and
the short throw shifter from them. In both cases, I felt that the manufacturing left
something to be desired. I've always had to pull out the dremel to make things fit or clean
up the threads. My Courtesy Nissan shifter broke in half when I was commuting
home from work!! |
JIM WOLF TECHNOLOGY
www.jimwolftechnology.com |
JWT makes some of the more exotic power add-ons such as ECUs with multimode switching,
and ECU/NOS systems. JWT has an excellent reputation for engineering expertise.
They're like Stillen in that you can purchase their parts from vendors. Cattman, for
instance, sells some of their products.

I haven't dealt with RT directly, but I present it here as a source of reference
when it comes time to modify your catalytic converter.

STILLEN
www.stillen.com |
Stillen's site is much improved. You can now get a list of parts specific
to the Maxima. No online ordering. You'll have to call them. But I
wouldn't. Not to say that their salespeople are bad, in fact, some
have been quite helpful. But going to Stillen is like going to a car
dealership. You MUST haggle. If you paid "suggested retail", you
paid way too much. Heck, I've had to argue over the price of a quart of oil!
This has always detracted from the "Stillen experience". In the back of your
mind, you'll wonder if somebody else was able to get a cheaper price. My advice:
find out what you need and buy it from a Stillen vendor (ie Avalon).

SUMMIT RACING
www.summitracing.com |
I found Summit to be handy when it comes to accessories such as pedals and gauges.
Being a large dealer, they have competitive prices. They have a decent website,
but I hate their search engine - not too user friendly. They are basically a catalog
company. Some of the items you may want are not listed on the site but are on the
catalog. If you need more info than the catalog provides, you may actually find the item
on the site, snuck away somewhere, but the catalog will give you the part number that will
make their search engine useful. |
TIRERACK.COM
www.tirerack.com |
If you are planning on getting new wheels and/or tires, this website is a MUST.
They have excellent articles and customer feedback on the tires they sell, which
is pretty much everybody's. They even have a program that lets you see how the wheels
will look on your car. They also have suspension parts (ie shocks/springs) at
good prices. Live in a apartment? Don't think there's room for 4 wheels in your
mailbox? Not to worry. Tirerack has service "partnerships" with tire stores
nationwide. You can have your wheels shipped directly to a local tire shop and
get your wheels mounted. All in all, a professional organization. |
WARPSPEED.COM
www.warpspeedperformance.com |
A new vendor for the Maxima enthusiast, making their own brand of cold air intakes
and y-pipes. Initial feedback from people is good. We'll keep an eye on them. |
WOODDASH.COM
www.wooddash.com |
I'm looking into some interior improvements. I liked WoodDash's site
because they give you a schematic of all the parts that come with a
dash kit. But I haven't ordered from them yet... |
